Southland Transportation Truck

History

Southland Transportation Co was established in 1987 in Dobson, North Carolina. The company began with 3 company trucks and one owner operator. Building on relationships that were established at McLean Trucking Company, Southland was able to begin operations by delivering auto parts from North Carolina to Ford and Chrysler automotive plants and returning with coil steel. Southland quickly expanded by adding owner operators and serving more of the automotive industry. In the early 90’s Southland began delivering furniture from North Carolina to retailers in the Midwest. After the decline of furniture production in North Carolina, Southland returned its focus to the automotive industry. About 80% of the company’s present business is from the automotive industry. Southland now serves over 180 customers each month across the entire 48 states and Ontario, Canada.
